CALITERRA, BOSTON, MA - Part of Broad Street’s “restaurant row” in Boston between Faneuil Hall and the Financial District, Caliterra merged the light and spirited cuisine of California with the traditional staples of the Mediterranean coast and especially Italy. The interiors feature a series of dining “rooms,” spaces without thresholds that provide the diner with a sense of intimacy while maintaining the visual excitement of the view through the crowd. Bar, wine room and dining areas are placed along a bent circulation axis that both adheres to the difficult geometry of the saddle-bag space and creates a sense of adventure as patrons move from one space to another, enfilade.
