POOL HOUSE, OLD WESTBURY, NY - Crafted in the manner of a bungalow, this building was conceived as a “jewel” set out in a landscape behind a large modernist “manor” house which it adorns. The pavilion is appropriately structured as a stick frame with infill panels in wood, glass or translucent insulating fiberglass panels. The main floor is raised above the ground plane with a wrap-around porch making it useable as a belvedere, a connection to the landscape which is entirely justified by the lush plantings which can be seen across open outdoor space. The building accommodates two dressing rooms and a small pantry.
