Tasked with relocating to a nearby town, along with reinventing the best fine dining restaurant with a 70+ year history and memorable interior design, Tony’s Restaurant, Anthony’s Bar is a densely packed design that combines a 60-seat restaurant and 40-seat bar with a full-service kitchen and wine cellar on three levels including lifts for service and accessibility comprising around 6,000 square feet. The restaurant on the main level consists of an entry area, lounge, Private Dining Room (which can be combined with the lounge to seat 20), and dining room seating 40. Every surface is shrouded in sound-absorbing wood panels with slip-matched cherry veneer, bringing forward a design feature from the former restaurant. Custom banquettes, wood and metal screens, custom-designed carpeting, design flourishes in wood, metal, and glass as well as curated and custom produced artwork create an ensemble as tight and interconnected in spirit as “Saltimbocca alla Romana” and a glass of a savory Tuscan red.
Overlooking the lower floor is Anthony’s Bar which can be reached internally by a cantilevered open-riser stair or externally by a separate street entrance. The bar itself, a deliciously curved 4” thick marble tongue provides both bar seating and a community-style arrangement great for small groups. Seating is purposefully flexible in response to the owner’s desire for a casual seating plan responsive in an instant to the guests’ desires.
